For parents of learners under 13

Child Privacy Notice

Effective August 6, 2026

Optimistic Software LLC, doing business as Pythago, provides this notice directly to parents before collecting personal information through an account for a child under 13.

By creating the account, the parent authorizes the collection, use, and disclosure described here. The parent may withdraw consent and delete the account at any time.

1. Information we collect

  • Account details provided by the parent, including the learner’s name, email address, and age band.
  • Learner profile, goals, preferences, and progress.
  • Tutoring messages, transcripts, answers, lesson-canvas drawings, documents, images, source material, and generated learning artifacts.
  • Voice audio needed for live transcription and profile recordings that the parent chooses to retain.
  • Device, security, performance, and diagnostic information needed to operate and protect the service.

2. How we use it

We use child information to provide and personalize tutoring, generate lessons and reports, maintain the learner workspace, communicate with the parent, protect the service, and comply with law. We do not use it for targeted advertising or to train general-purpose models that serve other users.

3. Who receives it

Relevant information is processed by providers that operate Pythago, including cloud hosting and storage, per-user compute, authentication and email, AI inference, speech transcription and synthesis, document processing, payment, support, security, and error monitoring. They may use the information only to provide their contracted services to Pythago. We may also disclose information when required by law or necessary to protect a person or the service.

4. Retention

Learning content is retained while the managed account is active so the learner and parent can continue lessons and review progress. Live microphone audio is not retained by Pythago after transcription. Profile recordings and their transcripts remain until the parent deletes the account or recording. Security and deletion records may be retained when required for legal, fraud-prevention, or security purposes.

5. Parent controls

The parent can review the learner profile, sources, lessons, sessions, transcripts, uploads, drawings, recordings, and reports from the family dashboard. The Privacy menu permanently deletes the learner account and its data, withdraws consent, and stops further collection.
